Pretty journal design HELP!

How do you do that??? Like the headers and the footers and changing the background color and stuffs? How?? I mean I know how to put a header by hosting in imageshack/photobucket and then using the url, but then I need to measure the width of the journal to make the header fit...then when I view my own account in a different monitor, the header is not the right size because different monitors have different widths. Get what I mean? How do I make my header follow the width of the journal automatically? How do I change font style and color and make bg? Why am I so pathetic help plz

oh and while you guys are being nice and helping me out, how do I post deviations with transparent bg so that I don't need to deal with bg's anymore?

1) you need a CSS.. and i think thats a subscriber feature. however.. there are plenty of custom made CSS on dA

it's pretty easy to follow that

2) save your artwork as .png and when you do that choose PNG24 as the save method. and make sure the BG layer is transparent when you save it

what does png24 stand for?

iv tried saving my bg in photoshop as transparent, but when i save it as a png or jpg, it fills it with either white or black. im so sad with technology, hahaha.

Save it as PNG file, and it has to look transparent and bgless in Photoshop too. Idk what you're doing that makes it end up with a white bg but well it works for me all the time. JPGs don't support transparent bgs.
