Have never really tried doing something like this before...basically took a photo of myself wearing the make-up, then heavily manipulated and painted over the photo. It's a technique a lot of my fave artists in Deviantart do, such as

Goes under Digital Art because final outcome is produced mostly via digital painting, and not so much the original photo.
