Hey folks!

As my Disney Villainettes collection continues to grow, I have been receiving a lot of common comments and questions which I've decided to address in this journal.

How did you come up with the idea?
It started with :iconsmyrnasketcher:'s Hades Art Jam, where we were asked to draw Hades in any way we wanted. Since I suck at drawing men, I did a gender-bender. I was so excited about the idea that I decided to make an entire series.

Why "Disney Villainettes"?
The series was originally called "Disney Bitches" but I did not like how un-family-friendly it sounded. Someone commented on my Gaston deviation, referring to her as "Gastonette". I liked how that sounded so I changed the series name to "Disney Villainettes".

How many more Villainettes are you going to do?
According to my list, I have enough male Disney villains to create 4 cycles of 6, which makes 24 Villainettes in total. However, since I am constantly altering the list, this number is not final and I may end up making more or less in reality.

Are you going to do animal villains too?
Yes, but since I am not very good at drawing animals, I will likely do human interpretations of them. I hope that is okay! I will try not to disappoint anybody.

What about Disney subsidiaries, such as Pixar or Disney Digital 3D?
My list currently includes Pixar villains. I don't have any Disney Digital 3D or live-action villains at the moment, but I am definitely open to doing them if the right villain catches my eye.

Which villain will not be appearing in the series?
There are four potential reasons why your favorite villain may not make it to the cut:
  1. I haven't seen the movie and am not planning to see it in the near future (ex. Swiss Family Robsinson, Home on the Range)

  2. I don't care enough for the villain to include him (ex. Sykes from Oliver and Company, Amos Slade from The Fox and the Hound)

  3. I don't believe I have the skills/vision to do the villain justice (ex. Horned King from The Black Cauldron)

  4. It is not clear whether the character is really a villain (ex. Bruce in Finding Nemo)
Again, my list is subject to change, so you might be seeing these villains after all.

Why is the style of the individual pieces in the series inconsistent with one another?
I am still growing as an artist, so every new deviation is a chance for me to experiment and try out new things. I don't want to hinder my development by limiting myself to a single style or type of background.

Why is Ratcliffe skinny?
Unfortunately, I am not accustomed to drawing larger women and am afraid they are too advanced for my present skill level. Thus, you should expect all larger villains in the future to be drawn in the same manner.
